Annemarie Schweiger, owner of Exquisite Blumen, is originally from Germany and moved to California as a child in the 1980’s. Eleven years ago, she found her way to Whidbey Island. She says, “I never imagined or intended on having a flower shop.” But, in the serendipitous way things happen on Whidbey, she purchased a house in Clinton and began planting bulbs and tending to her garden meticulously. She found herself falling in love with growing flowers and began gifting friends with her bouquets. A friend who was gifted one of these beautiful bouquets suggested that Annemarie begin a flower business and she says, “The idea of a small shop just came to me and grew!”
